League Rules

•    First rule of business is to HAVE FUN as well as play competitive hockey.

•    USA Hockey Adult Rules will be instituted, with few exceptions.

•    All players must be USA Hockey registered and submit number or form to the League Director prior to first week.

•    No checking, change on the fly, and slap shots allowed.

•    Blue line icing - The farthest blue line will be used for calling icing.

•    There will be a 5 minute pregame warm-up.

•    Games will be three 22 minute running clock periods.

•    If the score is within one goal or tied in the final three minutes, we will proceed with a stop clock. (losing team will then assume responsibility of stopping/starting clock)

•    If the score tied at end of game, 3 player shootout, home team shoots first, if still tied after 3 player shootout, sudden death (first goal wins)

•    Championship and Third Place games seeding -- Most Points, Games Won, Goals Scored, and then the Least Goals Allowed

•    Penalties will be three minutes starting with the drop of the puck on ensuing faceoff.

•    Fighting/Match or Gross Misconduct -- there is a zero tolerance with fighting, penalties resulting in a Game Misconduct, any action resulting in a Match penalty being called, or any conduct (**see Gross Misconduct statement below) that is deemed detrimental to the league.  No refunds will be allowed for game suspensions:
--  Game Misconduct- suspension TBD by League Commisioner  (Non-Fighting Major for
Slashing, High Sticking, Boarding, or Checking From Behind)
--  Fighting and Game Misconduct- suspension from the league for the REST OF THE SESSION
--  Match Penalty/Gross Misconduct- PERMANENT suspension from the league

(**Gross Misconduct will be the determination of the League Director for any actions that jeopardizes the overall "spirit" of the league)

•    Substitute Players/Refunds -- No substitute players will be allowed to play for a team unless circumstances agreed upon by the League Director.  Those circumstances would be a session ending injury, an unplanned job days/hours change or relocation, or if agreed upon with the League Director.  The substitute player would then pay a prorated rate for the remaining games and the exiting player would receive a refund of that same amount minus Pay Pal service charges if payment was made with Pay Pal.

•    Substitute Goalies -- goalies will need to find a replacement goalie or notify League Director that a substitute goalie is needed for a game.

•    Five minors will exclude a player from further participation in the current game only.

•    Major penalties that carry game misconducts will be subject to a suspension as determined by the League Director and team captains involved in the game in question.

•    Match penalties will result in a immediate suspension from the league for the rest of the session

•    Player shortages -- If one team has 9 players or less and the other team has 12 or more, the team with the least amount of players will trade a player(s) of even strength to even out the teams to at least 9-10 skaters on the team with the least of amount of skaters.  Both captains will decide and agree on player trades.

•    Each team will have a Captain and Asst. Captain for on-ice and pre-game responsibilities. The Captain's responsibilties are:
--  Insure he/she has enough players present for the game, if not, the opposing team will
give an equal strength player(s) to other team as decided by the captains
--  Maintain control of players during game and discuss penalties with officials
--  Insure players are maintaining normal shifts (shifts should average no more then 1.5 to
           2 minutes)
